Jacob was born and raised in Cheyenne, and attended the University of Wyoming. At UW, He pursued two concurrent Bachelor’s Degrees in Molecular Biology and Microbiology, with a minor in the UW’s Honors Program. Medicine has always been at the intersection of his interests between science and technology, but had a strong desire to serve others. The clearest, “light bulb” moment, which finally cemented his career choice came the night before he graduated high school. His grandmother surprised him with his grandfather's medical bag that he took with him and used during house calls. Jacob never met his grandfather, but after hearing numerous stories from his mother and grandmother about his career, he knew that he could carry on his legacy. Jacob is currently interested in numerous areas of medicine including anesthesia and oncology, but is mostly excited to learn more about other fields. His other hobbies include travelling, skiing, ice hockey, and filmmaking.
