Saddle Up Move-In Day

August 15, 2025

Are you a first-time student this fall? You will participate in Saddle Up! This new and exciting program is coming to UW this fall. You must frequently check your University of Wyoming email address (uwyo.edu) before Move-In Day. Keep an eye out for information regarding your room assignment, roommate information, move-in, and general housing and dining information on August 12th. If you do not receive one by the end of the day, please contact us at living@uwyo.edu.

When you arrive in Laramie, you’ll want to make your way to 15th & Ivinson if you are moving into White, McIntyre or Tobin House. If you are moving into North Hall, follow the driving instructions that take you to 14th and Lewis Street. Please use these handy driving instructions to North Hall or the Legacy Halls to help guide you to your destination. Once you arrive, park in the designated Move-In parking spaces depicted on the Move-In map.

Before unloading your vehicle, go directly to your assigned Residence Hall to check in.

Don't know your assigned hall?
Visit the Housing, Dining, and Residence Life office on the lower level of the Washakie Center.

It's time to unload! Carts are available to check out at various locations depicted on the Move-In Map. You may use the 30-minute unloading zones (indicated in yellow on the Move-In map). Please do not exceed the 30-minute limit.

Note
: When checking out a cart, you must leave an ID. This can not be the student's WyoOne ID card because they will need it to access their room.

Once you have unloaded your vehicle, please move your vehicle to another parking lot. Students should move their vehicles to the corresponding parking permit lots. Parents and guests can move their vehicles to the Brown 'Free Parking' zones identified on the Move-In map. If you have an oversized vehicle or trailer, temporary parking is available east of Crane Hall.

For more parking information, visit the Transit & Parking Move-In Day Website.

Now that you are checked in, unloaded, and have moved your vehicle, it's time to unpack, relax, and decorate!

One Stop Shop is where students and their families can get all their questions about life on campus answered. Located on the lower level of the Washakie Center from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, students and families are encouraged to stop by and talk to our participating vendors, including:

Move-In Day can be a family affair for some UW students. During Saddle Up Move-In, our Family Basecamp, located on the lower level of Washakie Center, is the perfect place for families to unwind while students unpack and settle into their rooms. UW Student Success and Graduation staff and Cowboy Coaches from our peer mentoring program will be available to answer questions or direct families with questions.

Staggered Move-In Schedule

August 15

Staggered move-in times will be implemented this year to streamline the move-in process, ensuring it is safe, organized, and efficient for everyone. By scheduling specific times for different groups to move in, we can reduce congestion, manage traffic, and ensure elevator availability. This approach also allows for better resource allocation and more personalized assistance, resulting in a smoother, less stressful experience for all residents. We are excited to welcome our students and look forward to making their move-in experience as pleasant and efficient as possible.
