2:30pm Ice breakers & team building activities
3:00pm Marching block - fundamentals
4:00pm Conducting fundamentals for leaders & drum majors. Guard & drums in separate
block.
5:15m Dinner at dining hall or on your own
6:30pm Marching block 2 - teaching rotations for leaders. Guard & drums in rehearsal
7:30pm Blue Devils rehearsal discussion followed by rehearsal observation with BD
staff
9:00pm End of the evening
Saturday 6/13
8:30am Breakfast
9:30am College Q&A with Western Thunder camp staff
10:00am Score study and rehearsal discussion
10:30am Music rehearsal - all students will need to bring their primary instrument
11:30am Conducting rehearsal
12:00pm Lunch at Dining Center
1:30pm Leadership presentation with Dr. Carver
2:30pm Blue Devils rehearsal discussion with BD staff member
3:00pm Individual conducting lessons on next season’s show (for drum majors). Student
leaders will discuss strategies to run an effective sectional rehearsal. Guard and
Drums continue working on camp routine.
4:00pm Campus scavenger hunt and UW Campus tour with WTMB camp staff
5:15pm Dinner at Dining Center
6:15pm Show presentation. All Drum Majors will conduct their show. If students do
not bring a show, then they will conduct the song that we rehearsed as a group.
7:15pm Leadership session on peer to peer teaching and conflict-resolution strategies
8:30pm Camp closing - all sessions are done. Commuters are welcome to go home
Sunday 6/14
8:30am Breakfast for those staying in the dorms. Move out and go home
