Maria Kuznetsova is originally from Russia and received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Syktyvkar State University in Northern Russia. She came to the United States in 2001 to work on her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Carolina – Aiken. She then went on and worked on her Ph.D. degree in Developmental Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. As soon as she completed her doctorate degree, she started working at Casper branch campus of UW as Academic Professional Lecturer in Fall of 2011. Now most of the courses that Dr. Kuznetsova teaches are distance courses (online asynchronous and zoom). She is a recipient of Extraordinary Merit Award for Teaching from UW College of Arts and Sciences (2019), and in 2020 she received the Hollon Family Award for Teaching Excellence in Off-Campus Programs from UW.
