Applying for Aid
College is an investment, and having financial aid can help cover some of those costs, which will help you place more focus on your education. Financial aid isn't just about loans - it can also include grants and scholarships that you don't have to pay back, and opportunities to work on campus through the Work-Study program. Knowing how much aid you can receive will help you plan for your academic future. We outline all the steps no matter what type of aid you qualify for.

Your Financial Plan for Attending UW
Pursuing your education at the University of Wyoming is an exciting step toward a bright future. Having a solid financial plan in place before you begin helps reduce stress and allows you to focus on what matters most—your studies. With the support of financial aid and a solid plan, you can navigate costs more easily and dedicate your energy to achieving academic success.
As you consider your options for college, it's important that you consider the Net Price - the difference between estimated Cost of Attendance and the actual scholarships and grants you qualify for. That number is your estimated out-of-pocket cost for a year. If your Net Price feels out of reach, there are other options:
- Sign up for a payment plan
- Apply for external scholarships
- Take out a low-interest federal student loan
- Apply for a federal Parent PLUS loan
- Explore private student loan options
