Transfer Student Success

Committed to Supporting Transfer Students at UW

COVID Return Plan and Transfer Policies | University of Wyoming

Transfer Student Success exists to serve the needs of transfer and nontraditional students at the University of Wyoming. UW has one of the largest proportions of transfer and nontraditional students among land grant institutions in the United States. Our dedicated team works with community colleges, four-year institutions, state policymakers, and national foundations to provide an outstanding experience for transfer students. In collaboration with students and colleagues throughout region, we look to create a campus culture that is welcoming, active, and efficient.

2+2 Degree Plans

2 years at the community college (earning an associate’s degree)
+ 2 years at UW
   4 year Bachelor’s Degree

Wyoming’s community colleges and the University of Wyoming have partnered to provide program-specific articulation agreements that assure students that courses taken at Wyoming community colleges meet UW degree course requirements.

These articulation agreements mean that students earning an associate’s degree (AA, AS, or AB) in a given major at a Wyoming community college can transfer to UW and earn their bachelor’s degree in the same major in two years.

Transfer Peer Mentor Program

Transfer Student Success at the University of Wyoming is pleased announce the Transfer Peer Mentor Program. First launched in Spring 2018, this initiative is designed to support the transition experience and long-term success of incoming transfer students.

Peer Mentors serve as academic and social role models for transfer students, sharing personal experiences and best practices as they guide new students through a successful transition to the University. Peer Mentors are leaders, encouragers, sounding boards, and points of contact who work diligently to help transfer students become a part of the UW community.
