Angela Simonton joined the Division of Kinesiology and Health at the University of Wyoming in the Fall of 2021 and currently serves as an Assistant Lecturer of Physical Education Teacher Education. She currently serves as the Student Teaching Internship Coordinator and teaches several courses in the program including two movement cores and a practicum lab. Additionally, Angela teaches two of the courses required for endorsement in Health Education. Prior to joining the team at the University of Wyoming, she worked as an instructor at the University of Memphis in the Department of Health Sciences, teaching undergraduate students how to plan, implement, and evaluate physical activity and health interventions. Angela has also previously spent several years teaching physical education and health curricula in K-12 public schools and coordinated before and after-school programs in urban communities. In addition to her teaching, she is actively engaged in several professional organizations including the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) of America and Wyoming Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (WAHPERD).
