Kinley grew up in Cody, WY; a short drive from the east entrance to Yellowstone. This proximity to the mountains fostered her love for the outdoors. On fishing trips with her dad, she would try to revive fish that had been injured by performing CPR, which, sadly, did not work. However, that drive to help others — animals and humans alike — would lead her forward as she entered college with the goal of becoming a physician. At Northwest College in Powell, WY, she earned her basic and advanced EMT certifications while peer tutoring math and science courses and researching the antibiotic properties of sagebrush. Kinley also performed as a cellist and percussionist in the school’s musical ensembles. Via distance learning at the University of Wyoming, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. This allowed her to continue her EMT training, shadowing at local hospitals, and volunteering for hospice families. Outside of school, Kinley is an elite triathlete who has participated in events such as the Boston Marathon and Ironman World Championships. She will never turn down an opportunity to hike, camp, or take photos in the mountains with friends or family and will say “yes” to traveling just about anywhere.
