Ted was born and raised in Laramie and attended the University of Wyoming, graduating in 2026 with a bachelor's degree in biology and minors in mathematics, chemistry, and honors. During college, he served in the Wyoming Army National Guard as a combat medic, taking a year off school for a 9-month mobilization to Kuwait, and his experience in the military inspired his interest in a career in medicine. He also worked as a substitute teacher for Albany County School District #1, as a research technician in University of Wyoming aquatic ecology and invertebrate biology labs, and played violin in the UW Symphony Orchestra. In his free time, he enjoys playing music, running, and spending time in Wyoming's beautiful outdoors.
The University of Wyoming has earned its Research Level 1 (R1) status from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing Wyoming's only four-year university with the top research universities in the United States.
