Katelin grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming and graduated with plans on attending the University of Wyoming to obtain a degree in psychology and forensics to work with inmates on death row. Though that path changed to study medicine, her goal of caring for the human person with dignity and respect in a healthcare role has remained. While attending college, Katelin traveled to Tanzania and Costa Rica to volunteer in the hospitals and clinics there, and worked at a non-profit clinic to administer healthcare to those financially challenged in Albany County. Katelin finds working with people in healthcare fulfilling, so after college she continued this by working at her local hospital, first as a CNA in the labor and delivery ward, and then eventually as a medical assistant for the outpatient clinics, mainly cardiology. After working in labor and delivery wards in the United States and Tanzania, Katelin hopes to specialize as an OBGYN and come back to Wyoming. In her spare time, she likes to sing in the choir at her church, engage in crafts, read, write, and travel. You can also find Katelin engaging in various outdoor activities such as backpacking, climbing, and camping with family and friends.
