Teancum grew up in the small town of Lander, Wyoming, and later attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology with a minor in Family Life. He also served a two-year religious mission in Atlanta and Guatemala City, experiences that strengthened his love for service and working with diverse communities.
His work in psychology and stem cell engineering research labs, along with his experience as a medical assistant in an immunology clinic, solidified his passion for improving the community through evidence-based medicine. While he is particularly interested in emergency surgery and Mohs surgery, he looks forward to continuing to explore different specialties throughout his medical training.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and preparing to be a dad. If he has time, he likes to go camping, hiking, or just having a campfire, cooking, longboarding, and learning about anything he can.
