Sydney was born and raised in Lander, Wyoming. There, she was encouraged to serve others and realized her lifelong goal of becoming a physician. She later attended the University of Wyoming, where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees in exercise science. During her time at UW, she learned the importance of prevention while conducting cardiovascular research in the H.E.A.R.T. Lab, developed a passion for exercise as medicine through her internship at cardiac rehab and by leading community fitness testing, and sought to make health information more accessible while teaching/mentoring students. Beyond academics, Sydney became a Wilderness EMT, facilitated a free diabetes prevention program, and worked at a nonprofit Title X reproductive health clinic. There, she practiced patient advocacy and remained motivated to advance health equity. She looks forward to applying these experiences in rural Wyoming communities. In her free time, Sydney enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, cooking, spending time outdoors with her dog Kinley, and finding opportunities for a little extra whimsy each day.
