Room Policies

  • Study Rooms are available for use by current UW students, faculty, and staff.

  • Rooms may be reserved for a maximum of 4 hours per reservation and up to one week in advance.

  • Groups may make one reservation per day. An extension on time or additional reservations may be requested at the Help Desk and will be granted based on current room availability. All double-bookings will be canceled.

  • Groups must check out a key at the Help Desk to access the room. Library accounts must be in good standing to check out library materials, including study room keys.

  • Library staff will cancel reservations for groups who do not arrive within 15 minutes in order to make rooms available to others.

  • Extensions may be requested by phone or at the Help Desk within the last 15 minutes of a reservation.

  • Keys must be returned to the Help Desk immediately at or prior to the end of a reservation so the next group is not kept waiting.

  • Library staff may cancel reservations for groups determined to be unfairly monopolizing rooms.

Abuse of study room and viewing room policies may result in the loss of room privileges.
