The Naughty Pines Derby Dames (NPDD), the University of Wyoming's roller derby team, sold out their bout on Saturday but couldn't catch up to the more experienced Denver Wreckin' Roller Rebels (WRR), losing the competition 96-156.

Close to 1,000 people packed into the Laramie Ice & Event Center to cheer on the NPDD. The crowd rallied around the NPDD but the score did not reflect the team's achievements. They are the first roller derby team in Wyoming to bout.

The NPDD, a recognized student organization, will compete again Friday, June 12, at 8 p.m. in Castle Rock, Colo., against the Castle Rock ‘N Rollers. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/naughtypinesderby or E-mail the team at thenaughtypines@gmail.com.
