BIO

Dr. Berg received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2022. She then completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency followed by a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Berg's practice site is with the St. Joseph's Family Medicine Residency at the Bruner Family Medicine Clinic in Denver, Colorado.

Currently, Dr. Berg reaches in the Therapeutics series and Pharmaceutical Skills courses, and she precepts ambulatory care rotations. Her rotational experiences include pharmacist management of chronic disease states under Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) protocols and population health outreach initiatives. Dr. Berg's professional interests include diabetes management, women's health, pharmacy advocacy, and addressing health disparities.

Teaching Synopsis

Dr. Christina Berg teaches across the PharmD curriculum, delivering therapeutic content in the P1, P2, and P3 years. She also contributes to the pharmacokinetics curriculum and facilitates interactive sessions within the skills series.

 

Research Synopsis

Dr. Christina Berg’s research focuses on pharmacist-driven interventions to improve chronic disease management, promote health equity, and ensure safe medication use in health systems. Her projects emphasize cardiovascular care and population-based models, including pharmacist-led hypertension management in Black, non-Hispanic patients, and reducing inequities in atrial fibrillation treatment. Her scholarship also explores medication utilization and safety, such as sulfonylurea use in older adults, naltrexone in inpatient care, and barcode scanning of injectables in hospitals. She has presented at Colorado Pharmacists Society, Vizient, and ASHP Midyear, demonstrating how pharmacist-led approaches can close care gaps and improve safety. Dr. Berg’s work reflects a translational approach, moving real-world data into actionable interventions that strengthen health system processes and advance equity.
