Bio
Dr. Myran received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wyoming in
2012. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2013 at the Billings Clinic
Hospital in Billings, Montana. Dr. Myran's practice site is at Cheyenne Regional Medical
Center working with the UW Family Medicine Residency Program. She teaches in the Therapeutics
courses and her clinical and research interests include infectious diseases, critical
care, family medicine, and care transitions.
Research Synopsis
Dr. Leena Myran’s research integrates clinical practice, interprofessional education,
and public health interventions. Her funded projects through WyCOA and Ellbogen have
advanced faculty development in geriatrics, diabetes prevention, immunization outreach,
and patient-centered primary care. She was Co-PI on an ACCP-funded study evaluating
gaps in tobacco cessation counseling and continues to mentor student-led projects.
Her publications include reviews on Helicobacter pylori, nephrolithiasis, oral contraceptives for acne, acute bronchitis, and cinnamon for blood glucose control, as well as a widely cited scoping review on teaching interprofessional teamwork (Journal of Interprofessional Care).
She presents nationally at AACP, STFM, and SNOW Symposium, and regionally on immunizations, sepsis management, and pharmacy integration in family medicine. Her work advances pharmacist roles in interprofessional care, chronic disease prevention, and evidence-based education.
