Bio

Jessica Papke, PharmD, BCPS received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy in 2017. She then went on to complete a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Memorial Hospital of South Bend in South Bend, Indiana. Upon completing her residency, she moved back to Wyoming and worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY.

Dr. Papke is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She teaches in Clinical Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacist Skills, Therapeutics and precepts Internal Medicine rotation students. Dr. Papke’s practice site involves daily rounding with the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency inpatient team at Wyoming Medical Center. Her research interests include transitions-of-care, family medicine, and cardiology.

Teaching Synopsis

Dr. Jessica Richards precepts fourth-year pharmacy students during experiential rotations in internal medicine and academia. Her didactic teaching includes instruction on the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process across a variety of disease states in therapeutics and pharmacy skills courses. She also leads an educational service-learning program in South and Central America.

Additionally, Jessica precepts for the Banner Health Wyoming Medical Center and Educational Health Center of Wyoming pharmacy residency programs for their inpatient family medicine rotations. 

Research Synopsis

Dr. Jessica Richards’ scholarship spans pulmonary medicine, immunizations, pharmacy education, and care of underserved patients. Her recent publications include reviews on COPD exacerbations, pneumococcal vaccine updates, and a national consensus paper on pharmacy residency educational outcomes. She has also published on caring for transgender and gender-diverse patients.

She disseminates her work nationally and regionally, including AACP Annual Meetings, where she has presented on DEIA initiatives and pandemic-era teaching strategies. Her continuing education and faculty development presentations cover artificial intelligence, preceptor development, and international volunteerism.
