Bio

Dr. Sheba David completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University in Chennai, India. She achieved her Master's degree with distinction, receiving the University Gold Medal, from Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India, where she also pursued her doctoral studies. She furthered her research journey as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Commencing her academic teaching career in 2010, Dr. David has since provided supervision to approximately 40 students and authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, along with contributing to several book chapters. Her primary research interests encompass the domains of drug delivery, nanoparticles, biomaterials, and pharmacological assessments. Dr. David has been working in the field of drug delivery and pharmacology for more than two decades.

Research Synopsis

Dr. Sheba David’s research bridges pharmaceutics, nanomedicine, biomaterials, and cancer therapeutics, with emphasis on translational applications in wound healing and oncology. She serves as PI on funded projects investigating silver nanoparticle biosynthesis for colorectal cancer and antimicrobial matrices for infection prevention, and as collaborator on nanoemulsion-based oral care products for cancer patients.

Her prolific record of over 60 peer-reviewed publications spans transdermal, nanoparticle design, liquid crystal drug delivery, and natural product pharmacology, and biomaterials. Recent studies include bioactive hydrogels for chronic wound healing, sulfate-free oral care formulations, curcumin nanoemulsions, and chitosan biomembranes for periodontal regeneration. Her group has also advanced preclinical evaluations of nanotherapeutics in colorectal and cervical cancer, and contributed systematic reviews and patent analyses in nanoparticle drug delivery.

Dr. David’s work appears in Scientific Reports, Toxicology Reports, Drug Design, Development & Therapy, Endocrine, Metabolic & Immune Disorders – Drug Targets, BMC Medical Education, and others. She also mentors undergraduate researchers through competitive projects in biomaterials and formulation science.

Teaching Synopsis

Dr. David teaches Biopharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics and Pharmaceutical Calculations to Pharm.D. students, integrating clinical applications, foundational principles, and NAPLEX preparation. She also mentors students in independent study courses on transdermal research and advanced applications of pharmacokinetics and pharmaceutical calculations.
