Campus Mail Service
UW Postal Services provides collection and distribution of inter-departmental mail, delivery of incoming US Mail, and processing of outgoing US mail and parcel. Please note, due to Private Express Statutes, campus mail can only be used for official UW departments only. No outside business can use campus mail for delivery. Find more information on the timing of your mail route.
Please contact UW Postal Services directly regarding any parcel or package weighing more than 16 ounces.
New Postal Accounts
All new accounts for departmental mailings must be approved by UW Postal Services Manager, Bob Trumbul. Please call for the proper forms at (307) 766-4297 or email btrumbul@uwyo.edu .
Inter-departmental Mailings
Postal Services offer a variety of choices for your inter-departmental mailings. You can tailor your mailing to reach a specific group on campus.
For example (current pricing):
Setup Fee - $10.00
University Officials - $6.00
Deans, Directors & Dept. Heads - $10.00
Clerical - $20.00
Generic Secretary - $6.00
Professional - $20.00
Faculty - $39.00
Staff - $49.00
Faculty/Staff - $83.00
We can also create a custom list to fit your needs.
If you want to send a package, that weighs more than 12 ounces, internationally via USPS you have several options:
Directly take the package to USPS on 4th street where the sender engages with the window clerk on its contents and hand stamps the package.
Or, set up an online mail account at USPS.com where they can certify the contents of the package, complete the necessary customs form, and pay for the shipping amount online (a P-card would be necessary).
If this second option is exercised, UW faculty or staff can then provide the package to UW Postal Services as the package is now in the USPS “system.” UW Postal cannot run it through its meters and thus far the USPS has rejected packages where we have done such.
A third option would be to take the international package to shipping and receiving and send it via UPS or Fed/Ex.

Business Reply Mail
Business reply mail (BRM) makes it possible to receive replies via first class mail. Departments only pay postage on the actual replies received. Correct first class postage payment is guaranteed through this service. There is an additional per piece charge. All postage and handling charges will be billed back to departments.
Remember, all business reply mailers must be approved by the Postal Services prior to printing. You are encouraged to contact UW Postal Services directly regarding BRM's.
When you need business reply envelopes or post cards please call UW Postal Services at (307) 766-4297.
Meter Reply Mail
In some instances, meter reply mail can be a cost effective method since there is no service charge, but the postage is prepaid. A return rate of 90% or better should be expected before considering meter reply mail. Meter reply mail requires a printed message above the address. If you need information about designing and printing these envelopes and post cards please call UW Postal Services at (307) 766-4297.
