Phillip Goodwin is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Wyoming. He specializes in public rhetorics and public engagement pedagogies. His research is grounded in rhetorical theories of publics/counterpublics and activism as well as political economic rhetoric and examines the intersectional relationships among rhetoric, politics, and economics. In the classroom his work explores the rhetorical possibilities of writing—broadly defined—to intervene in pressing local, public issues. His work has appeared in College Composition and Communication, Rhetoric Review, Review of Communication and in edited collections. In his free time, Goodwin enjoys running, gardening, and spending time with his family.
