The University of Wyoming has a variety of certificates students can earn. These certificates are voluntary and do not lead to professional licensure or guarantee employment. Reclamation/Restoration Ecology Graduate Certificate

The Reclamation/Restoration Ecology (RRE) graduate certificate (check sheet) prepares the student to use basic and applied ecological concepts to reclaim and/or restore processes and functions to disturbed ecosystems. Reclamation and/or  restoration of disturbed ecosystems requires an understanding of the edaphic, biotic, hydrologic, geologic, and topographic factors comprising these ecosystems, including the complex interrelationships that support and perpetuate ecosystem function. The graduate certificate will be granted to students who have completed a B.S. in an appropriate science-oriented discipline and are currently enrolled in an M.S. or Ph.D. program. Teaching Middle-Level Math Certificate

Teachers who are interested in this program, but not in earning a Master's degree, may complete the UW certificate program. This includes completing coursework, which results in an institutional recommendation from UWYO to the professional teaching standards board. Teachers of American Indian Children Graduate Certificate

This graduate certificate of the University of Wyoming certifies that those who complete its five specialized courses possess the attitudes, knowledge, and competence necessary to effectively teach Native American Children. Upon completion, students receive official recognition of their achievement on their University of Wyoming transcripts and an official certificate. The Graduate Certificate is a post-baccalaureate, non-degree program offered by the University of Wyoming. Courses from this program may be used to obtain a Wyoming State teaching endorsement and meet some requirements of graduate degrees. Courses can count toward the Master's in Education in Curriculum & Instruction and/or the Native American & Indigenous Studies graduate minor. American Studies Certificate

The certificate program allows students to choose from undergraduate and graduate courses in American Studies, literature, geography, music, art, history, philosophy, sociology, folklore, anthropology, Native American and Indigenous studies, political science, environmental studies, and media studies. Land Administration Certificate

Students earning a certificate in land administration gain the tools to effectively navigate natural resources issues as they arise. Certificate holders can critically explore root cause analysis and recommend desired outcomes. Collaboration with other UW colleges has made this accredited on-campus or online certificate possible.
