Terry P. Roark

President Roark

(1987-1997)

Roark was the President of the University of Wyoming from 1987-1997.  He is a native of Okeene, Oklahoma and received his bachelor's in physics at Oklahoma City University in 1960.  Afterward, he entered Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York, and received his master's in 1963 and his Ph.D. in 1966 in astronomy.  He was appointed assistant professor of astronomy at Ohio State University in 1966, and became a full professor in 1976.  In 1983 he was appointed professor of physics and vice president for academic and student affairs at Kent State University.
