Dr. Madison Ashworth is the Associate Director of the CBEA at UW. Her research focuses on the intersection of health and behavioral economics, specifically in evaluating different programs and policies to determine their effectiveness in changing individual behavior and public health outcomes. She has expertise in a range of public health topics including rural health, substance use disorder recovery, infectious diseases, and healthcare service delivery. Prior to joining the CBEA she worked as a health economist at the Fletcher Group where she developed the Fletcher Group Economic Calculator, an innovative cost-benefit tool that substance use disorder recovery organizations can use to demonstrate the economic impacts of their services. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Wyoming.
