Dr. Molly Burchett is an Assistant Professor of Marketing, Smyrnios Family Sales Professor, President’s Distinguished Scholar, and Governor Geringer Promising Young Scholar at the University of Wyoming. Molly’s research advances sales and marketing theory through a behavioral strategy perspective. Using multi-method approaches, she examines how interactions among market actors shape sales and market outcomes and how firms align, adapt, and sustain marketing activity. Her research has been published in the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Business Research, and the European Journal of Marketing.
Molly teaches Professional Selling and Selling for Impact, advises the UW Sales Club, and mentors doctoral students. Since joining the UW faculty in 2020, her teaching has been recognized with the 2026 American Marketing Association Sales SIG Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2025 Lohse Excellence in Experiential Teaching Award, College of Business Excellence in Teaching Awards for 2020-2021, 2021–2022, and 2023–2024, and the 2022 UW Top Professor Award. She has also received the 2023 College of Business Impact Award, the 2021 Campus Being a Difference Award, the 2023 Research Belt Buckle Award, multiple Weatherford Journal Excellence Awards, and a Top-Tier Publication Award.
Before earning her M.A. in Communication and Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky, Molly worked in financial services sales and business development and later led strategic partnership development in the manufacturing industry. Outside of work, Molly enjoys biking, hiking, skiing, campervanning, photographing wildlife, and exploring new places with her wife, Blake, and goldendoodle, Gia.
