Biography
Chris Haller is the Director of the Center for Principle-Based Leadership & Ethics.
In this role, he oversees the development of strategic objectives, annual budget,
networking events, marketing & branding, co-curricular programs, executive education,
and community & business outreach for all stakeholders of the Center. Additionally,
he oversees the UW Leadership Academy, and he teaches course for the Leadership Minor.
Chris previously served as Vice President for the Crest Insurance Wyoming Division.
He managed the firm’s first branch acquisition in the state of Wyoming and led a staff
of ten employees. Chris oversaw the Laramie and Rawlins locations which are full-service
insurance agencies consisting of commercial, employee benefits, bonds, personal and
life insurance.
Formerly, he was the inaugural Director of the Center for Professional Selling at
the University of Wyoming. In this role, he launched a corporate partnership program
and multiple educational initiatives for the Major and Minor in Professional Selling.
His efforts raised over $100,000 in corporate partnerships for the program in a two-year
span. He also supervised all internal and external events, marketing of the Center,
and coached the University of Wyoming sales team that competed nationally.
Prior to joining the College of Business, Chris worked for the Wyoming Athletics Department
as a Manager of Business Development and the Director of Event Management & Game Operations.
During his role in Business Development, he oversaw and managed corporate sponsorships
for Wyoming Athletics, consisting of $800,000 annually. As the Director of Event Management
& Game Operations, Chris managed day-to-day event operations for 17 varsity athletics
sports teams and assisted with the implementation of two capital renovation projects
for the basketball and football facilities totaling over $60 million.
Chris earned an MBA at the University of Wyoming in 2017, and a B.S. in Sport Management
with minors in Business and Psychology from the University of Kansas in 2014. In 2024,
he was awarded the “Campus Being a Difference Award” by the NASBA Center for Public
Trust, for not only making a difference, but consistently embodying the very best
on principled behavior, integrity, and leadership at the University of Wyoming. He
is personality assessment certified as an executive leadership coach and he also serves
on the Board of Directors for the Wyoming Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
He and his wife, Corianne, and their daughter, Mira, enjoy spending time outdoors
and participating in recreational activities with friends and family.
