Cheryl Loy brings decades of experience in college and career development to the Student Success Center. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Roosevelt University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. Cheryl began her career in secondary education, teaching English Literature, Theatre, and Journalism, before transitioning into college and career advising, where she has supported students in achieving their academic and professional goals.
Originally from downtown Chicago, Illinois, Cheryl recently relocated to Laramie,
Wyoming. While adjusting to a new pace of life, she especially appreciates the region’s
open skies, scenic landscapes, and easy access to the outdoors.
Cheryl and her husband, Dan, are proud parents of two children: Annie, who lives in
Denver, and Jacob, who resides in Chicago.
The University of Wyoming has earned its Research Level 1 (R1) status from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, placing Wyoming's only four-year university with the top research universities in the United States.
