Robert Macy

Robert Macy, J.D., Ph.D., directs the University of Wyoming's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and manages the university's Venture Capital Fund. With 30-plus years of experience spanning entrepreneurship, venture capital, law, and film production, Macy offers a cross-disciplinary lens on venture creation. Before joining UW in 2024, he led entrepreneurship centers and programs at a number of universities, including New Mexico State University where he was the Bill and Sharon Sheriff Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship, and Penn State, where he founded the Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship major and co-launched the Lion LaunchPad incubator. His scholarship explores entrepreneurial negotiation, immersive entertainment, and technology commercialization. He serves as a consult for game studios and industry partners, bringing those projects back into the classroom to create fresh experiential challenges.
