About Applied Computing At UW
The bachelor of science in applied computing is a concurrent major housed in the School of Computing that pairs seamlessly with any discipline offered at the University of Wyoming. Our program features courses in programming, data storytelling, applied mathematics and customizable electives such as cybersecurity, geospatial technology and digital communication. Through internships, research and project-based learning, students gain hands-on experience and a once-in-a-lifetime education.

Our applied computing program is intentionally designed to be interdisciplinary. This ensures we're giving our students a well-rounded education that bridges computing with their chosen field of study. The University of Wyoming is packed full of faculty members that are experts in their craft and studies, and we want our students to learn from as many of them as possible.
Not only are students going to be learning about applied computing in this program alongside another degree of their choosing, we've built the curriculum to immerse students in real-world scenarios, collaborative projects and hands-on problem solving. By combining computing with their primary field, students graduate with a powerful, interdisciplinary skillset that prepares them to stand out in today's competitive job market.
