New Benefited Employee Orientation

Congratulations on your new position at the University of Wyoming!

New Employee Orientation (NEO) for benefited employees is held weekly on Tuesdays from 8:15 am to 10:15 am in Hill Hall room 356. All new benefited employees are required to attend an in-person orientation (or virtually for out-of-state employees).

As a new employee, you likely have many questions about the benefits offered by UW. This page provides important information regarding benefits options and is intended to supplement the benefits packet provided to you during New Employee Orientation.

New Employee Deadline Information

IMPORTANT INSURANCE INFORMATION: Employees must select and complete enrollments 31 days after the date of eligibility.  Please be aware that the employee contribution for insurance is deducted from the prior month's paycheck.  Submit your enrollments in the timeliest manner possible as to not incur a double-deduction.

Following the example below, if your start date is April 13th, but you complete your selection through the EGI Portal on May 1st, then on payday for May the employee contribution will be taken out twice: one to pay for your insurance for the month of May and one more time to pay for the month of June.  After this point in time, you should be on track and will not be double-deducted again.

EXAMPLE: Your date of eligibility is the first day of the month following your start date. If your start date is April 13, your date of eligibility is May 1.  You would then have until June 1 to enroll in your benefits.

If you have any questions, please call Cherise Laud at 766-2437 or email claud@uwyo.edu.
