Nancy Eisenmann came on board with UWYO Nursing faculty this fall, 2020. She says her areas of interest and research are Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and clinical judgment. "I also have background and interest in health policy, advocacy, and regulation," says Eisenmann. "I have been in nursing education going on my 5th year as nursing faculty." 

Eisenmann fills new shared faculty position in academic-practice partnership

Nancy Eisenmann is the first to step into a new faculty position shared by the University of Wyoming Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing and the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. In this academic-practice partnership, both entities seek to enhance patient care outcomes through implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP). 

Eisenmann's roles

Among the duties in her new role at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC), Eisenmann will carry on a professional practice, focusing on EBP with the expectation of dissemination of that work. She will be maintaining and enhancing the partnership between CRMC and UW; will be an advisor for CRMC nurses in the UW nursing programs; will be a liaison between Cheyenne community members, CRMC staff, and UW FWWSON programs. She will facilitate UW's nursing student placement experiences at CRMC and will teach EBP to and facilitate EBP projects for the CRMC nurses in the CRMC Nurse Residency program. 

Her reponsibilities to the University of Wyoming will include teaching classes to as well as advising undergraduate and/or graduate nursing students. She will be involved in research and creative activities to enhance use of EBP by nurses, as well as being involved in cooperative extension and outreach to nurses in Wyoming.
