UW graduates with no additional coursework to transfer:

Students who have already received a bachelor's degree from UW and have not taken coursework since their graduation can simply complete a returning UW student application. The $40 application fee will be waived. For help navigating the application, check out How to Apply to UW!

 

Students coming to UW with transfer coursework from another institution:

Students who received their bachelor's degree from another institution or who graduated from UW and have taken courses at another institution since leaving UW, should:

• Apply for admission as a transfer student and pay the $40 non-refundable application fee. Students who have taken UW coursework previously will have this fee waived.
• Have one official transcript from EACH previously attended institution sent directly to the Admissions Office.

Students cannot apply coursework as a second bachelor's degree candidate toward a graduate degree. Please consult your intended graduate program prior to applying if this is your intention.

 

TRANSFERRING PREVIOUSLY EARNED CREDIT

At UW we want to make transferring your credits as easy as possible. Generally, all college-level courses from regionally accredited colleges and universities will transfer to UW, while remedial courses and most vocational courses will not. Your UW department will determine the acceptance of transfer courses towards your specific degree.

Evaluation of your transfer credit may take some time. Remember, your credits are not evaluated until your admissions file is complete and an admissions decision has been made. If you would like more information about your credit evaluation, the Registrar's Office can help.
